Assurance and conformity assessment schemes for AI are advancing rapidly and set to play a key role in demonstrating safety and compliance with regulatory frameworks such as the EU AI Act. The emergence of international standards that will underpin such schemes is a key element of this development, alongside the advancement of other, closely interconnected aspects of AI readiness across different components of quality infrastructure.
The AI Standards Hub is partnering with the AI Quality Infrastructure Consortium for a webinar dedicated the field of conformity assessment for AI. Featuring leading experts in AI assurance, the event will discuss the critical role of quality infrastructure and conformity assessment in relation to the EU AI Act as well as other emerging regulatory and safety requirements, providing insights into how conformity assessment helps build trust, ensure compliance, and promote the safe development and use of AI. The session will examine relevant standardisation efforts as well as the relationship between standardisation and other quality infrastructure components in enabling conformity assessments. Specific topics will include the development of guidance for AI conformity assessment schemes through ISO/IEC, the forthcoming international standard ISO/IEC 42006, and the nature of conformity assessment under the EU AI Act.
Starting with a short introduction to the AI Quality Infrastructure Consortium, the webinar will feature presentations from each of the invited experts, followed by a panel discussion and audience Q&A.
Speakers:
Martina Paul – Convenor, ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 42 JWG 6 (Conformity assessment schemes for AI systems) Susanne Kuch – Digital Policy Officer at DakkS (German national accreditation body) Daniela Seneca – Regulatory Lead Artificial Intelligence, British Standards Institution Adam Leon Smith – Chair, AI Quality Infrastructure Consortium This event is hosted by the AI Standards Hub on Zoom and requires separate registration.
